Southbroom GC has many friends and admirers from all over South Africa and the World. As recently as August 2005, the Compleat Golfer magazine had an article, third in a series from a UK couple, familiar with South Africa, that covered the North & South coasts from Durban, that plumped down with Southbroom as their favourite course. Then in the following month, Southbroom received a 'Must play' mention in the September 2005 Complete Golfer's supplement 'Dream 18 and other must play courses in SA'.
For their hat trick, Southbroom Golf Club was well featured in a 4 page spread as the Course of the Month in the Sept 2005 Issue of Golf Digest.
But don't just take our word or those of the golfing press and enjoy the feel of the place for yourself.
The views from the course are magnificent, out to sea when from June to December you may see a whale spouting, or some dolphins as you tee off from the 4th. Alternatively the Vervet monkeys may catch your attention (Careful, head up!) as you play around the course.
If fortunate you may also see one of the shy Duiker (particularly along the 17th) that forages along behind the monkeys.
Catch 22 - I'm not prejudiced of course, I just love Southbroom GC and half of me wants to tell the whole world about it, the other half wants to keep it quiet.
So within a very short drive - none more than about 45 minutes, there are a further nine courses:
The majority of courses do not require Handicap Certificates, unless you wish to play in a Competition, when you will have to produce one. The majority of courses have electric carts and caddies available for a reasonable fee, as well as trolleys for those who wish to walk. It is best to advise us of your preferences when booking, in order that we may put together the package you prefer. Please also advise us of your home club and handicap, as appropriate. We can book tee times for you, or if you prefer let us take the strain and use our experience and put a tour together for you or your travelling group of fellow golfers.
